People of tourism gets post-Covid relief package from Uttarakhand government

Till now, as part of a relief package, the government of Uttarakhand has given more than Rs. 3.66 crore to the people associated with the tourism sector in view of economical setback caused by the pandemic, an official release here said.

Till August 31st, roughly, Rs. 3, 66, 37,580 have been transferred directly to the accounts of 9,398 people in Uttarakhand under the state government announced relief package for the tourism sector, it said.

Under this package, an amount of Rs. 2,000 per month is being paid to the hotel employees as well as to the employees working in restaurants and homestays that are registered with the tourism department, it said.

For five months, they’ll continue to get this amount. Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Pushkar Singh Dhami, had announced a package of Rs. 200 crore for tourism soon after taking over, saying 1.64 lakh families will advantage from it.
