Selfie point on a Dharamsala-Yol road

The Dharamsala tourism department has built aselfie point on a Dharamsala-Yol road to enticeall tourists. The place where thisselfie point has been set up was already been used by tourists to click photos due to the magnificent view that they used to get of the snow-clad Dhauladhar mountains.

Theselfie point has been set up for promoting Dharamsala as an attractive tourist destination. The idea behind this selfie point is that tourists would click photographs at the sitethat has “I love Dharamsala” sign displayed, and share it on social media. This would help in boostingDharamsala as a tourist attraction.

Nevertheless, the place where this selfie point has been set up has a sharp curve on the Dharamsala-Yol road. After this selfie point was created, many vehicles stopped there, giving rise to traffic jams. The policemen had to mediate and stop people from parking vehicles along the sharp curve on the road for controlling accidents.

There were demands from the tourism industry to create some points along with activities in Dharamsala region to tempt tourists coming to the region.
