Within weeks, Spain is set to ditch the face masks in hopes that the COVID-19 restriction will be dropped in time for the Easter holidays. Currently, the masks are mandatory in indoor public spaces in Spain. Experts have however predicted that the masks can become a thing of the past in as little as three weeks.
Pedro Sanchez, the Spanish Prime Minister, has said in a recent statement that said that the obligatory wearing of masks will be a relic of past soon. He said that Spain has the lowest cumulative rate of coronavirus in Europe. He said that very soon on the advice of the health minister, they may be able to remove the mandatory status of face masks indoors.
The Benidorm town hall chiefs have confirmed that the 4×4 metre roped-off beach plots that were in place to ensure social distancing,will be removed, as a treat to the visitors to the beaches.
These announcements follow an increasing number of Covid restrictions that have been relaxed in recent weeks. These announcements will be a great news to the British citizens, who will be visiting Spain. Tenerife, Gran Canaria and Lanzarote, which makes up the Canary Islands are currently operating at the lowest levels of Covid restrictions.
