Amadeus and Iberia reinforce their commitment to boost travel retail through NDC. Starting today, Iberia NDC content will be available to travel agents in Spain through the Amadeus Travel Platform using Amadeus NDC-enabled solutions.

This is another milestone in the adoption strategy of Amadeus and the International Airlines Group (IAG) and improves the experience of both travel agents and travellers, providing access to new content such as new fares (continuous pricing).

Following the announcement in 2021 that Amadeus would distribute International Airlines Group (IAG) content via the NDC standard, both organisations have advanced their joint vision of improving the sales experience for Amadeus system users. Spanish travel agencies that connect to Iberia’s NDC via Amadeus will be able to search, compare, book, and serve their customers in a single reservation environment.

Likewise, content on NDC will allow travel agents to have more detailed and relevant information in order to better meet travellers’ needs. To name a few of the benefits to travel agents, they will access a greater range of options for rates, exclusive ancillaries, special offers and campaigns only for NDC, and 100% refunds for the first 24 hours, without ADM linked to rates, refunds, or availability.

Content from other IAG operators, such as British Airways, will be available in the coming months. Solutions enabled for NDC content will continue to progress during this time. In addition to Spain, other markets will be added and travel agents in Europe and America will gain access to Iberia content from NDC.
