Kerala’s Responsible Tourism Mission has declared a range of rural tourism packages for luring more travelers to the western parts of Kottayam district. The packages are being carried out accompanied by hotels, resorts and tour operators in Kumarakom, and are aimed toward acquainting tourists with the rich culture of the area in addition to providing amenities, so that they can take pleasure in the charming scenery around.
The new plans came into effect after a visit to the area during August last by Dr. Harold Goodwin, who is an advisor to the World Travel Market and the founder of ICRT (International Centre for Responsible Tourism). Dr. Goodwin had assessed the progressive activities and new inclinations in the tourism sector during his visit.
