Sarmad Hafeez assesses vaccination drive for stakeholders and tourism officials

Sarmad Hafeez, the Secretary, Tourism & Culture, assessed the speed vaccination and the way it’s being taken on by different Tourism Department units and stakeholders in Jammu & Kashmir in a high level meeting of officers.

The Tourism Secretary during the meeting requested for line listing of all the staff members and stakeholders at sundry tourist destinations for seamless vaccination in the forthcoming days. He requested the CEOs of different Tourism Development Authorities and Directorate of Tourism, Kashmir, to work in a synchronized way to attain the best results in this regard.

The Tourism Secretary was told that already the officials of Directorate of Tourism, Srinagar, TRC, Srinagar and Jammu and SKICC have taken the first jab of the vaccine. In case of the tourism stakeholders like houseboat owners, hoteliers, guest house owners, shikarawallas, tourist guides etc., line listing is being done through their representative organizations, he was informed.

Also, Sarmad Hafeez highlighted the urgency for planning modules for stakeholder’s capacity building in view of the pandemic and the various SoPs to be followed while doing business after the pandemic draws away. In this regard, he advised the Tourism Department to tie up with some acclaimed agencies in capacity building for deriving the desired results.
