A TOURIST attraction in Somerset is one for dog-lovers – where you get to spend the night with 30 of the pooches.
The Golden Retriever Experience lets you camp overnight while playing with the animals.
Launched in 2017, the tourist attraction recently gained notice after being shared on TikTok, with millions going mad over the unique experience.
The Minehead centre lets guests play with the Golden Retrievers, as well as learn about dog handling and even go on walks and feed them.
Packages include Valentine’s day, birthday and anniversary bookings, and you can book out the whole grounds.
The attraction also offers special services with the dogs including working with people with PTSD, learning difficulties including autism and Aspergers, pet bereavement or stress relief.
Nervous guests can be slowly introduced to some of the older dogs first, while other guests can meet them all in one go.
They also recommend bringing spare clothes, with it expected to get hairy after meeting them.
Prices start from £60 for a two-hour session, although you pay £180 to stay the night.
This includes a campfire BBQ dinner and breakfast, with a minimum of four people.
The site is open seven days a week from April to October although you may struggle to find availability – they recently wrote on their Facebook page: “We’ve gone viral! Please be patient with us as we work through the enquiries as quickly as we can!”
If you can’t quite face camping, they also have special rates with the nearby The Luttrell Arms Hotel which is two minutes away, or there are lots of other holiday cottages and shepherd huts.
The Minehead Butlins is also a short drive away.
