Indian travellers need not quarantine themselves on reaching Spain.
This will come into effect from 2nd August 2021.
Spain is among the best-vaccinated countries in Europe with 72.5% of citizens fully vaccinated.
Restaurants and shops are open throughout the country.
Mandates by the Spanish Government
The Spanish Ministry of Health, in its new health regulation, states the following mandates for travellers arriving in Spain:
- Passengers travelling by air or sea routes must undergo a health check-up under Spanish authorities before entering Spain.
- Before starting their journey, passengers must fill up a public health form. The process is available in both online and offline modes.
- International passengers who have not been able to complete the online form filling process can do so on reaching the Spain in paper format.
Indian travellers who received their full doses of the Covishield vaccine are now eligible to travel to Spain. The health ministry has not approved of Covaxin for the time being.
The last jab of the vaccine should be taken 14 days prior to the date of travel.
Travellers from high-risk countries will be allowed to enter only if they carry vaccination certificates issued by competent authorities.
Vaccines authorised by WHO or European Medicines Agency are approved of.
Children below 12 years of age who are accompanied by fully vaccinated guardians need not produce certificates or supporting documents.
Those between the age group of 12-18 must submit their vaccination certificate barring some exempted cases.
The certificates produced by travellers must be in Spanish, English, French or German.
If they are in any other language an official body must translate it into the native language.
