Aeroflot loses it distribution agreement with Sabre

The leading software and technology company in the travel industry, Sabre Corporation, declared that they have terminated its distribution agreement with Aeroflot.

Aeroflot is Russia’s largest government-majority owned carrier.

Sabre is removing Aeroflot flight content from its global distribution system (GDS), the marketplace used by travel agencies, travel websites and corporations around the world to shop, book and service flight reservations.

Sean Menke, CEO of Sabre has recently said that have been keeping an eye of the war with increasing concern.

He has said that primary focus has been the safety of the team members in the impacted region. Sabre is playing its part to support the much-needed relief efforts in the war. Sabre has taken an important anti-war stance.

Sean Menke, further said that they will continue to comply with sanctions imposed against Russia. Sabre has terminated its distribution agreement with Aeroflot, removing its content from our GDS.

Sabre says that they will continue to monitor the war between Russia and Ukraine. They will take further decisions by and consider all the legal options that are available to them, and evaluate if further actions are appropriate against them.

Sabre’s 1,500 team members in Poland have donated $1 million to the Polish Red Cross.

These donated funds will be used by the Polish Red Cross to purchase much-needed food, hygiene products and sleeping bags, and will support the provision of medical assistance to those seeking shelter in Poland.
