The district administration is strengthening infrastructure for tourists at various places for the upcoming tourist season. Starting fromfacility of toilets, parking, nature parks, improvement of campuses, waste management or restoration of pedestrian paths, all facilities are being created swiftly. The most important aspect of this infrastructure improvement is environment protection indelicate mountainous areas.
Kullu Deputy Commissioner AshutoshGargsaid that the services of Sulabh International have been hired for setting up mobile toilets at tourist places. Sulabh will operate and maintain mobile toilets from the Green Tax Barrier to the Rohtang Pass.
Gargsaid that the Tourism and Civil Aviation Department has provided funds to the Tourism Development Council (TDC), Manali, under the “NaiRahein, NaiManzilein” scheme for building pedestrian paths and entrances. The tender process for the works is complete and these will be finished by June this year.
The TDC Chairman said that Rs. 60 lakh has permitted to the Forest Department for building a nature park at Gulaba. A rain shelter, food point and cafeteria, solar lights, benches and pedestrian paths will be set up at Gulaba. The Forest Department has been directed to build the nature park at the earliest.
Gargsaid that CCTV cameras would be installed in tourist hotspots inManali.
