The medical tourism of Thailand is surging

As travel restrictions were made simple now, Thailand is once again emphasizing its reputation in the medical tourism by attracting visitors who are keen to benefit from the natural sceneries of the country as well as taking care of their medical issues. However, as visitors are now returning slowly and gradually, analysts forecast that tourism will not revive to a significant level until 2023 when tourist numbers will be picking up in a considerable manner.

A Krungthai Compass analysis report says that a research house under Krungthai Bank, said medical tourism sector of Thailand is getting better from obstructions caused by the ill-impacts of pandemic and mainly from the now-cancelled Thailand Pass scheme.

A rise in the flooding of foreign tourists into Thailand in the last couple of months has increased at private hospitals and have ushered a promising outlook to the medical tourism industry of the country.

Over 3.1 million foreign tourists arrived the country in October, as per the news reports, it’s a rise of over 43% over September.

Krungthai analyst Sujitra Unno stated that in an online article it was published that footfalls in private hospitals’ have improved between January and June 2022, contributing to the upturn of Thailand’s medical tourism hugely.

She pinpointed a report that sees 24 SET-listed private hospital service providers in the first quarter of 2022, enjoying revenue and growth when compared to the same time last year.

the hospitals’ total revenues increased 48.9% year-over-year (YoY) to over 125 billion baht in the first quarter of 2022.
